REALITY – God has really blessed me and Keith to travel communities from West Va. to Ga. We are able to meet all types of people and to have them share. There have been a few stories that have really touched my heart. It’s such a confirmation why we HAVE to make ourselves available and not just sit on a pew in a church.
1) An older couple came in. Mom in her 80’s and son in his sixties. He has a boot on his foot and in obvious pain. He apparently fell at a large store. His mom went flying for help and instead of calling an ambulance the store made the son sign a paper saying the store wasn’t responsible. The mom finally got a hold of an ambulance and they went to the ER. ER found nothing BUT a few days later a bone dr found a serous fracture and a break and the man is out of work for 12 weeks. NO income. Had to move into his mom’s and lost his job. There IS help out there but NO ONE took time to point him in the right direction. He now has an attorney.
2) A grandmother in her 60’s got custody of her 3 young grandchildren after her daughter was murdered. She went to social services and was told the only help she could get was medicaid. That is an absolute lie.
3) 2 men came in the store and I was joking about being a poor pastor and the one man looked at me and said ” if you were another color I would believe that” WHAT???
My point is this These behaviors are NOT acceptable and if we don’t get involved and stand up for Truth and give people some direction this unacceptable behavior will continue and become acceptable behavior.
